Chapter 9. Figure 2. Methylation in the promoter and 5' UTR of the PLAU gene. The frequency of CpG methylation as determined by bisulfite cloning and sequencing across the CpG island in the promoter-region of the PLAU gene for both MCF-7 (yellow circles) and MDA-MB-231 (light blue circles) breast cancer-derived cell-lines is shown. A CpG island (ranging from positions -200 to 500 relative to the transcription start-site) is illustrated by the green line. The positions of two different qPCR amplicons (blue and orange blocks) are also indicated. These amplicons are surveyed in figures 4C and 5.
