Chapter 4. Figure 3. UCSC in silico amplicon predicts one PCR product. Human chromosome and base pair location of the amplicon is in blue text followed by size (bp) of the amplicon and the primer sequences in capital letters. If only the desired product is predicted PCR is likely to be specific (assuming only one product is desired). If more than one amplicon is predicted, PCR may be compromised. In both cases, other issues such as primer dimers and product secondary structure may affect results, so an appropriate primer design program is also necessary.
