Section D. Figure 11. Binding of Acanthamoeba to host cells is mediated by acanthopodia. Acanthamoeba castellanii belonging to the T4 genotype were incubated with host cells, followed by several washes and observed under scanning electron microscope. Note that parasites were able to exhibit binding to the host cells and binding was mediated by acanthopodia. A is Acanthamoeba.
