This chapter describes how synthetic miRNA blocking agents may be used to inhibit miRNA action in cells and in vivo. Particular emphasis is given to chemically synthesized oligonucleotide anti-miRs, types of synthetic analogues, mechanisms of action, and methods used to validate their activities.
